in one of my past relationships the person tried to dish out the perspective that my love was conditional because they had toxic behaviors that I was opposed to. that i should accept them exactly as they are even though they were lying and taking advantage of me.

what I didn't realize at the time is that... you can still love someone, accept them where they are, acknowledge that that's not what you want for your own life, and leave them where they stand to do their own thing.

people who are highly sensitive tend to see the best in people, instead of what's really going on. they see straight to the heart of the person, which is a side of them that may never come to the surface. 

people who've lived through trauma often do not realize that love doesn't look like bad behavior. love is a two way street. if someone truly loved you they would not behave badly, love is wanting to care for and protect someone.

love is healing and kind and sometimes tough but always for the betterment of the object of the love... everything else is infatuation, or manipulation.

LEARN to not accept bad behavior by re~minding yourself that unconditional love is not unconditional acceptance of bad behavior.
