we all get down sometimes. it's part of being human. imbalances, like sleep deprivation, affect the chemical soup in your brain (not a medical definition) and you can find yourself "down" sometimes for seemingly no reason at all.

at one point in my narcolepsy journey I started experiencing despondency. to me despondency isn’t wanting to end your life, it’s more like “I’m so worn out, can this be over now?” being aware that it came in cycles helped me through it.

from the bottom I would realize what was happening and I’d hear my own voice, like a time capsule message re~minding me … hey, when you get to the bottom, don’t forget to look up.  re~minding me... I’ve come through it every other time, chances are good I will this time too.
